In Germany, there are around 100 incinerators that are used to turn waste into energy. For a very long time, this type of system had a bad reputation for creating pollution, but this is no longer the case in the 21st century. Special air filters minimise emissions of harmful substances and state-of-the-art systems are setting a new precedent in terms of their efficiency.
